Scholarly Activity: Scholarly Works
This section of the dossier demonstrates how I have engaged in scholarly publications appropriate to the discipline of communication, specifically rhetoric, consistent with the expectations of the Department of Communication. During the review period, I built a "strong scholarly record" (see former Department Chair Kiyak's 2020 memo regarding reappointment). I model scholarly inquiry for student by incorporating knowledge learned from writing these manuscripts into my courses. This webpage provides an annotated bibliography of scholarly works that summarize the nature of the journal.

- About the book: Each day instructors confront different modalities, pedagogies, assignments, challenges and opportunities brought forth by the need to respond to the pandemic. Some of these changes will be temporary, others more sustained. In this edited volume, chapters unpack what we know about different dimensions of teaching, how the pandemic either affirmed or challenged that knowledge, and how teaching may change when the pandemic recedes.

- About the book: We would be remiss to pre-suppose long-term educational ramifications surrounding COVID-19. It is important, though, to consider the historical moment and short-term implications of COVID, and the subsequent quick online pivot. Spring 2020 was unique. The pandemic forced a higher education reckoning as institutions around the world were forced to shut their physical doors and open up, in even more capacity, their online platforms. These concerns were unique to the times however there is much we can learn from collective institutional responses to the pandemic induced quick online pivot. As such, this edited volume provides different perspectives regarding the impact of COVID-19 on students collectively and college teaching and learning.
